Well, after checking all electrical systems, sea foam fuel, timing etc I rebuilt the carbs and it’s running like a new boat….. thanks for all the help. Now gotta put away for winter but I’ll be ready for spring!,

What does " factory setting " on the carburetors mean to you ?-----To me it is the setting to allow motor to start and keep running.-----It must be fine tuned on the water and in gear.-----Done to correct for local atmospheric conditions and condition of fuel.-----Thermostat in place and working ?---Enricher valve leaking perhaps ?---Check valves ( if equipped ) on recirc system checked ?
This was my problem with the manual and setting carbs. You set them to what the spec says and it still does not run correctly. I am not a mechanic but I can read a manual and turn a wrench if I can get to the part. I did not know at the time when I had a Merc 115 carb that the manual is just a starting point. Mines would cut off when I place in gear. Did everything to spec but I did not know at the time I needed to go beyond spec to keep my engine running.
