I have a 14' Crosby sled I have been fishing out of for decades. I have recently upgraded to a Evinrude 35 Hp engine. The problem is at high speed the Prop creates a vacuum like an eye of a twister, so when I turn there is no water around the prop. therefore the motor races and the boat slows. Help me out just in case their biting on the other side of the lake and I have to get there quick. Thanks

Re: racing engine

Did you mount a short shaft engine to a long shaft transom? Is the cavation plate even or below the keel?

Re: racing engine

Agree with prevoius poster,
Motor is not deep enough in the water.
