Quick silver control cable removal

Hello, I have a 92 bayliner trophy. I need to replace one set of throttle cables for one of the two force 120 we have. Engine end was pretty easy my question is for the controller end. On the end of the cable it looks like a cotter pin is slipped into a brass collar and that goes up int the controller housing. Is this something that fairly easy to remove and install or should I bring it to someone? Just dont want to get over my head. Thanks

The cables are very easy to replace. It is getting them from the stren to the the control unit that is the pain is the a**. You will need to get acess to the routing area to feed the new cables through and get the old one out. It also take two people to do it. One feeding and pulling. Also if you are going to replace one set you might want to replace them both. Hate to see you have to take apart the side of your boat to get acess again. Also the cables in my boat where zip tied and screwed to the side of the inner cap at the factory. You will need to get into these areas to cut the ties. You have either a 2302 or a 2502 right? Any access from down in the aft cabin? I did not have this acess on my 2002 and had to remove my fishing storage box to get at the ties.

At the control end I would suggest you feed the new cables before disasembling the old ones. That way you can do a one for one swap.
