In the picture you can see the seats have metal anchors running from the top down to the seat. Are those needed for support on the boat do you think? I'm thinking of taking them out.

Well they don't look like they were put there for looks:D

I think they do offer some support to the hull, to keep the shape rigid around the gunwales.

Due to the fact that your rig has pretty high sides they help out, my 12 footer has them but they are much smaller since my sides/freeboard are not as tall.

I agree with Huron Angler. I would not take them out if it were me.

Question. As you can see in the pictures, the hull appears to be twisted. I'm not equipped to twist it back. I'm obviously not going to be racing her, this is a fishing boat. Do I need to be concerned with it?

Your boat has seen some rough times. The bow looks like a boxer that has one fight too many. :D The torqued hull should not be a problem for your use; slow safe going to a fishin hole.

Ignore the twist and go fishing......... every time the boats rocks no one will notice.

Haha, oh yeah, it is beat up. I should call it the mike tyson! Kinda gives it personality. I was thinking of leavin' the nose like that, just 'cause.

It looks a lot better at this point, I will post some updated pictures soon.

You might be able to go with large "L" brackets bent to fit the hull tighter..

If you want to leave what you have,,, I have seen rod holders(storage) mounted to them that looked fairly good and were darned handy.

I was thinking along those lines as well. Try and maximize the space. I will be putting a deck on the front at least, in time.

All in all, this is good experience for me before I tackle a bigger project.
