Hi, I would appreciate any comments or help anyone can offer in regards to the following pictures:

01010061.jpg

I have two of these, one in the front and one near the back. These were in small wells that had only a bottom drain and no other means for water to get in or out. Better to keep them or cover them up and have my water supply and drain come from the transom?

This is a bubble in the resin on the hull. Is this anything to be concerned about? Is there a need to grind it out or can it be left without worry as it is under the floor and not cosmetic?

The chopped mat is weak on resin everywhere it bridges the ribs on the bottom of the hull. What should be done with this?

Resin is pooled along the stringers. It ran down from the chopped mat. Should this all be ground out and is there a concern about the fact that the resin is here and not on the mat where it is supposed to be?

01010007.jpg

Resin pooled again near the bilge. The hull is at least 1/2 in thick as you can see in the picture for the thru hull fitting. Very strong and I can't feel any flex when moving around inside the hull.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

on the thru hulls fitting, i would replace and seal. if you don't want them to drain use a stopper. the rest i'm leaving to the more experienced glass people.

I agree on the thru hulls. If you want them, leave them. Just install a thru hull fitting and use a screw type drain plug.

The areas that you show are not uncommon. If there is no exterior cracking of the gel coat, in those areas, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Like DWJ said

I hate to say it, but that looks like typical construction. While not good, normally the bridging of the glass and pooling resin don't create problems.
