1976 9.9 fouls the bottom plug. I have replaced ALL ignition components (driver coil, ignition coils, points, condensors and plugs), rebuilt the carb, checked the fuel pump diaphram, cleaned all grounds and verified the reeds are fine. I'm running 50 to 1 mix.

My question is, my compression test shows 70 psi in both cylinders, adding some oil to each cyl. raises it to 90 psi. Is this to low and causing my plug to foul?

What brand and type of de-carbon system should I try? When I remove the spark plugs, I have a lot of carbon build up on top of the piston.

my cooling system seems to work fine. Could a head gasket couse a spark plug to foul on one cylinder? How do I tell if the head gasket is blown?
