I have a 60HP and the motor started knocking and I shut it off and was towed back.... I took the head off and found a small hole in piston #2 and pieces of the ring were smashed to the head and top of the piston. I cleaned the pieces of ring out and put the head back on and no more knocking.I know I cant run it that way, but my question is can I replace the sleeve, piston, and rings or do I need a whole new power head...As you can tell I know just enough to be dangerous  Thanks for any help

As long as every thing else is OK just re-sleeve it and buy a new piston.

One thing I wish I had done when I had mine apart was replacing the bearings. As long as you have it opened up you may as well think long term.

Good luck.

Everything depends on if the motor has ever been over bored before and how much damage the cylinder wall has. Its quit possible that you might be able to bore it out, new piston.
To answer your question though, yes, a good machine shop can re-sleeve that cylinder.
You need to find out why you burnt a piston and rectify that problem if you are going to rebuild.

For the boring, if you decide to go that route, only use use a marine outboard machine shop (as opposed to an automotive machine shop) and tell them the specific piston you'll be using. If the other holes are OK, no need to do them, just the bad hole. Resleeving isn't done very often. As Walker points out, make sure to find the cuase of the failure, or it will repeat. You'll need to mike the bore to determine the oversize to bore to.
