Did they quit making the Mariner? Was they dependable? 15HP Short Shaft.

I am not sure if they dropped the entire line or not.<br />But the Mariners are Mercury outboards..They are identical outside of the paint and decals.<br />The 15HP merc likes impellers. They are very reliable, and have an idiot-proof fuel system on them (extra cleanable filter and intregal fuel pump)...HOT ignition,too.But when the carb get's gooey, it is a chore to rebuild them, with the primer,fuel pump and tiny pickup. But then,you won't be in them as often as some others.

12 is right . Those Mariner 15s are the same motor as a Merc except for the paint job and in my opinion are one of the sweetest engines Merc has ever produced.
