Q6 x47tx fishfinder

My Q6 x47tx fishfinder, on my Q6 fish and ski which I assume is original equipment is not working. It only works in simulator mode. I checked the manual online, and it said that usually points to a cable or transducer problem. The only transducer looking thing on my boat is on the transom, but doesn`t look anything like the transducer shown for the unit. I wonder if my trnsducer was mounted in the hull from the factory? Have any of you guys dealt with this before?

You probably have a shoot-thru-hull transducer in the bilge area...the thing at the transom is likely the temperature probe. I had this setup on a 08 Q4 s/f and didn't like the performance so I installed a new transom mounted transducer.

You might also check for a bad connection between the transducer cable and the fishfinder cable...look under the instrument panel.
