Q5i anchor size question

My question is what types and sizes of anchors are any of you Q5i owners are using? All I know is that the one that came with my used boat is not cutting the mustard. If I am lucky the anchor will dig into the soft bottom but most of the time it doesn't and won't hold the boat in rough seas. Any suggestions?

That's a tough question to answer. Need to know more details like lake, river, ocean use, etc. Also need to know rocky bottom, mud bottom, sand bottom, etc.

Well I'm in Lake Pontchartrain. Just north of New Orleans. I think most of the lake is either sand or mud. The problem is that it is quite shallow and quite common to to see 1-3 ft rollers. I currently have a danforth of about 5lbs I think. It's not doing the job when the lake gets a little rough.

I'm currently using a 20 pound navy anchor on my Q5 SF.

Maybe overkill but where I am located it is doing the job just fine
