Time is coming close for me to replace the eyes on the Batboat and move the dashboard back one foot. It is a one piece job so all happens at once.
I have most of it figured out but need some input on laminating in the eyes.
As you can see from the Burt Ward photo below, the side of the eyes follow the contour of the Batboat.
Here is my plan. Glass over cut 11/32 inch exterior fur with 1.5 mat on the inside and 1708 on the outside of the ply, grind down the topside of the boat down through the gelcoat to the original glass then peanut butter them in with screws fixing them in place temporarily.
I believe that the 11/32 ply is strong enough not to go junk on me but flexible to make the curve along the boat. The fiberglass will weather proof it.
What do you guys think?
Is there a better way to do this?
The ply will be 44 inches long and about 8 inches high.
You can see in the photo that the current job isn't very accurate.
