I wouldn't store it more than a week or so on brace or caster system as you could damage your hull, unless you set it up so it duplicates a lift or trailer as to pressure points. And hulls are different this way; carolina skiff= no rollers; boston whaler (old) = rollers only at keel.

on my last bowrider.... i lifted it off the trailer by lowering the trailer tongue, then putting to jack stand with wood on them under the stern...... then i raised the trailer and used my 2 ton shop engine hoist with a 25'- 4inch strap to make a girdle around the bow and the hooked it to the hoist and liftet off the trailer from the side of the boat... then rolled the trailer away, the put more bock under the bow......

Works like a charm it you have a hoist.... which i already did, because i had the pull the motor anyways.

How big a boat was it and the hoist did not try to tilt when lifting? Sounds like a good idea if I could lift the bow quickly and pull the trailer out and set my stand under the bow.

Sure does. I measured three or four times to make sure.

Good job Frisco!! The pics on pages 8-9 on Photo bucket of the boat cradle pics looked like you spent quite some time and care to get it done right:). Now I see by the roller and bunks why you'de want to redo it, Got me thinking that maybe I need to inspect my trailer just a little closer too. Hope you post some more pics of the trailer done. What held the the bow up when you were pulling the trailer out from under the boat or did you just inch her out slowly and when the boat was finally ready to come off the last roller you put the bow support under the boat? Thanks for all the pics. Keep us posted.

Two jacks and work it past the cross members once past everything set your cribbing......

Yep, drop tounge, crib up stern, raise tounge, use the two jack method to get past trailer members, then crib up... Easy, just a little tedious...

Sorry just woke up, Haven't had my coffee yet, or is this the method you used? Saw it when I re-read some more.

Yep, that is how I did it. worked like a champ. I was thinking when I was lifting the bow how it seemed really heavy. I have the Milwaukee Camera Scope that allows you to look into holes and see it on the screen. So I stuck it down a hole looking for water logged foam and found nothing. After thinking for a minute I realized the gas tank was full. DUHHHHHHH!
