Putting filler in closed cell foam pourings?

I need to fill up two rear flotation boxes with pourable closed cell foam.

The 2 Cubic Feet kit is just under what I will need. Can I stick a couple of empty, sealed plastic pop bottles in the foam while it expands expanding as a "filler" or will the pressure pop the cap off?

I know nothing of these things.

You could also put other foam in the pour... dry pieces pulled from the boat during demo, or blue or pink foam from the local home improvement store. There's a chance any of 'em will float... might want to hot glue them in place and pour over them, though.

Or head to the dollar store and shove some pool noodle bits in there and use the foam as the filler for the noodles.

Heck use some PL and just glue them down with a dab on each one....not much since the foam will hold them together.

I'd love to see the pool noodle fans make a noodle rub rail... that'd be a lot of protection...
