this is probably a stupid question, but oh well.
i'm restoring an old glastron boat (http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=254803), and with all hot and rainy weather we've been having, its sat covered on its trailer in the driveway for the past few weeks.
only trouble is that i don't have a good tarp for it so water pools ontop of it and theres places where it leaks into the boat. so now theres 2 inches of water at the bow of the boat. Turning it around wont do anything to help. since the boat still has no floor, the normal drain area in the back wont let any water out if more gets in.
i was thinking of drilling a 1/16th or 1/8th inch hole in the bow so the water could drain out, then later on when the boats finished i could plug it with aquarium silicon or maybe a small piece of rubber with a screw and nut (to make something like the expanding pvc pipe stoppers) so it could be removed if wanted.
has anybody tried doing this before? if so, how well did it work?
its such a small hole so i'm not thinking it will cause any structural problems and thinking it will be easy to fix without fiberglass.
