Purchasing a boat with 1999 Optimax's

Can anyone give me insight into the 1999 Optimax 225? I'm looking at a boat with a pair of them. They have 700 hours on them. The current owner has owned the boat for five years and claims they've run flawless the whole time.
I guess the question is should I stay away/plan on repowering the boat or are there updates that should be performed?

Any sort of direction would be great.

These year models was not the greatest and was know for failures. I would get the serial #'s and have a dealer run them to see if any/all updates was performed on engines.
