I have been reading posts on here for a while and the information is helpful. Im new to this site so I read a few things to get me by. Here goes nothing.
Yeaterday I bought a 1977 Mercury 1150 116 6cylinder compressions 122 all across. Fired right up and knowingly the motor had sat for last 2-3 years. The lower unit was removed and sitting off the side. I noted that there was no water tube in mid section to hook up garden hose to test the motor... I then noted that the impeller was just sitting on the long shaft with no casing. water pump pasing. I think these are relative small discrepancies and cheap parts... my question is...How can I make 100% I know if additional pieces are missing or broken? what should I be on a keen look out.
