Pull Cord to Starter Broken

Mercury 5hp, believe model No 37-13020. Cord broke and do not have manual to show how to replace cord and fit in correct sequence. HELP

That isn't a model number that I am aware of. What you need is the SN of the engine. Look for a number that starts with a 0 then a letter then 6 numbers.

Working on recoil starters can be dangerous, particularly if you don't know how.

You really need the Service Manual.
