Today I bought me a boat! 1990 Cobalt 223 Cuddy, 454/bravo. It's got about 250 hours on her and very well cared for. I think I got a great deal.

That's not bad spots on the left, it's grass from climbing in.

There is a few pics, I'll post more later. I didn't get to bring her home today, the trailer needs tires. The tires are a little dry rotted, better safe than sorry when crossing the mtns, I have to to get home.

Thank you! Yeah, I can't wait! I get to pick it up next Sat. I got it for 7000 under my max budget, so I have a little gas money. LOL

I had a 454 on a 24 footer . . . about 6-7 gph average fuel consumption. Water sports was more like 15 gph . . .

a 22 footer should be a bit better . . . so maybe plan on 7 gph average.

I can easily burn $50 in a day with a 4.3 on my 18' boat so I can only imagine. Boating isn't cheap but it sure is fun! :)

My guess then would be that if he boated with you all day he'd spend $70. Not that big a deal.

Nice ride!! $7000 less than your budget could be $43K since we don't know your budget. Would love to know what you paid for her. Very sweet. You let grass get in her? Jeez  :p :D

Oh well that's not too bad at all then.

And I'm not knocking the big block at all. I'm an old redneck that's built many off-road muddin trucks. I've always lived by the old saying "there is no replacement for displacement". :)

Re: Proud new owner!

I am really thinking the Trailer Gods are against me and this boat!

First- I ordered 4 new wheels and tires for it, only 2 showed up. The earliest the other 2 can be here is Saturday or Monday.

Second- I ordered grease, grease gun,and magnetic trailer light kit(just incase),and new safety chains, they lost my order and it won't be here till tuesday.

Third- Its has been beautiful all week, now they are calling for rain Saturday!

This has not been a fun adventure! LOL. I hope it starts going better.

Sounds more like Trailer Gods. Please don't needlessly anger the other guys; we all need their help :p :)

Congrads. Great looking boat. You'll love the big block. Every time you fire it up, the rumble will put a grin from ear to ear.
