I bought a skyline 16' boat with an old johnson 60 HP "Super Seahorse" outboard. I am wondering what type of pitch I should have on the propeller. Right now I have a 10x9 1/4 propellor on it, but it doesn't seem to be harnessing the full power of the motor.
Thanks,
Bunhopian44

Re: Proper propellor pitch

I dont know what prop you'll need, but I know that the experts here on boat set-up , are going to want alot more info. before they'll be able to help you. You need to tell : how motor is mounted, present rpm's and speed at WOT, hull type ( V, semi-V, etc.) I'd post as much of the info. as possible, you'll get a better response this way.
Good- luck,
KYHunter :)

Re: Proper propellor pitch

The motor is bolted on the back of the boat. It runs 4500 rpm normally and up to 5000 at WOT, and it is a semi-V hull. Right now it can get up to 23 knots/hour. The boat is an open-hull fiberglass.
