prop shaft tolerance

I'm changing the gimbal and u-joints to smooth my outdrive but thought i might go ahead and true the duo-props also. I was also wondering what the tolerance is for the prop shaft. I put a guage for car rear-ends on the shaft to measure the high spot from the low spot and it has 5 increment movement at the end of the first shaft and 10 at the end of the second shaft and the guage says the increment is .001. Is that within acceptable range or should I consider replacing the shaft which looks like a lot of work and expensive?
