Re: Prop Noise

The engine you describe is not one on the hit list for the rattle because it is 4 stroke (Willy or Silver said 4 strokes don't rattle????) the gearbox is 2:1, not 2.3:1 so the prop pitch isn't all that high which reduces the weight of the prop, the engine is 4 cyl which should be smoother (than mine) and reduce the opportunity for it....but who knows.

Sure you don't have something in the rear of the boat that can vibrate (resonate) at low rpm's and make the noise?

Re: Prop Noise

Guys

Thank you for all of the advice. I have learned alot and will have good questions for my service tech. This is the time of year I take it in for it's annual service. Off season, no waiting. I'm going to ask them to put it their tank a advise me. I have a good warranty until 2010. This is the best blog for boaters I have ever seen. Thank You.

If it really is clutch dog you are chasing I doubt you can find it in a tank, but who knows till you try it. Maybe it'll show up better with all the turbulence.
