Re: Prop Maintenance?

Back to the oricinal topic, I was looking at my owners manual and the manual says to "bend tabs of tab washer away from the nut" however I dont see a tab washer on my prop.

It just looks like it has one big nut.

Re: Prop Maintenance?

that doesnt look right. should have a splined keeper, the stainless spider looking thingy and the washer that retains the nut

Hmmmmm I got it like this. I took it to the mechanic a few times and he never said anything. He replaced the LU oil and a new water pump. At that time he was telling me to maybe try a different prop for better performance but never mentioned anything on that. I have been running it all year and as you can see it didnt fly off. However looking at the shaft if I would off to but the extra parts I dont think I would have enough thread to get the nut on all the way.

Hmmm thats great... I am wondering how it was working so far. I may have to go to the parts dealer tomorrow to get whatever I need. Btw what is the splined keeper?

Gee, fuel pumps can last for years. I do not consider them to be regular maintenance items. Usually you can pump the fuel primer and get home, although slowly. Another choice is to get a tow. Not sure you need to carry rebuild kit on board.

You're right. OP asked me about, and I was responding to, a question about his fuel filter not pump.
