The prop on my 30HP Yamaha is marked 9 7/8 X 13 F. I get the dia. and pitch but what is the F for? Also can I go up to a 10" diameter X 13 ? Thanks to all for your time and answers.

I do not know what the f stands for, most likely the style of prop(aluminum, stainless, high trust, etc.). But you can get a 10 1/8 x 13 in stainless from yamaha. I do not see that option in aluminum.

1/8, 1/4, and even 1/2 inch diameter changes within the same series of props from the same manufacturer are a function of prop design and it has little if any effect on performance. Again, within the same series of props from the same manufacturer as pitch goes up, diameter tends to come down a tad and vice-versa.
