Hi All,

I need some prop help and have a few questions.

I currently have a 4 blade SS 13 1/2 inch 25 pitch on a 1995 2 stroke Evinrude 150 powering a 19' Stratos Fish and Ski.
I am at 4,982 ft, ugh and getting about 4000 rpm at WOT and 35 ish miles per hour.

I know I am way over propped and I am Wondering what you think I need.

I stooped by the local boat shop and brought home a 14 1/4 inch 19 pitch to demo. Tried to put it on and the diameter of the outer sleeve is larger than the current prop and won't go all the way on. It hits some inner plastic and won't seat all the way down. It's an OMC prop 0763468. Did I get the wrong prop?

Thanks Brad

The description says it has a 4-1/4 hub. You would need a 4-3/4" hub. So with the correct thrust washer, there would be a 1/4" gap around the prop hub. Is that what you are seeing?

Take that plastic thing out if it's up inside the gear case.

14.25 diameter sounds like the correct prop, since the largest diameter that will fit on the smaller gear case is 14".

It sounds like that plastic thingy is an adapter to allow a smaller hub prop to fit your larger gear case.

Yes, way over prop'd.
18p 4 blade or a 19p 3 blade will do great.
I have a 19p 3 blade SS Tempest on my 2011 Triton. Runs about 55 mph with just me on the boat, 52 with a buddy and fishing gear. Pulls a skier or wake board or tube great.

I would expect the gearcase diameter on that V6 motor to be 4-3/4".

Thanks guys,
Looks like a 4 blade has a different trust washer that a 3, so that's what the issue was. I plan on running it at the lake today to see how it goes.
