Hi all,
I have a Sea Ray 180 with a 19 pitch prop. I like to be able to have about four average size adults (say 550 lbs) in the boat and pull an adult and a youngster in a tube (say #150-180 lbs).

With this configuration can my 3l 135 HP motor pull an adult and an youngster in the tube comfortably? I like to be able to pull two individuals. The two person tube is larger and more surface area than the one person tube. Does this mean that it will be easier to pull the two person tube due to the large surface area? Or is it easier to pull a smaller one person tube? Thanks.

Re: Prop and tubing

Pulling a one person will be easyer. If you know any boat dealers, ask if you could try out a 17 or 15 pitch prop. That should do you much better when you have a full boat and want to pull anything.Just watch your rpm's.Yes,top end speed will drop, but the boat should handle better.
