Hello I am new here and trying to find out what kind of boat this is and what year it was built. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

your best bet is going to be taking the HIN, located on the right side of the transom and running it through one of the many HIN decoders online. That will at least get you a MFG and a year....

Thanks for the in put but there is no hin# present on the transom , which makes me think it was manufactured before 1972 there has been some work done on the transom so it is possible that it could have been removed.

What kind of paper work do you have for it. It could be a one off that someone put together?

I like the lines but with no HID and no paperwork this may be a major battle to get registered in your name. Before going any further, I would recommend checking with your registering authority to see what hoops you're going to have to jump through to claim rightful ownership.

This may be one of those cases where you would be better off returning the boat to whomever you got it from until they get the paperwork straight.

ha ha , you could call it home made IE: a HM floater or the like.

that said , it looks as if it could be an early Hallet as i said before , but upon closer look i think not as it is too vertical in the sides.

In my state, it would involve court, a visit from the NYS Troopers (or other local law enforcement) to inspect the boat/trailer to insure there is no HID (or vin on the trailer), and a weigh station to determine applicable weights. That's before you go down the rabbit hole of getting new HID / VIN (for trailer) issued and registering it with the DMV.

My wife, who works for our DMV, has threatened divorce if I bring something home without proper ownership papers. So, yeah, in my household that would be a new flower garden after a coat or two of paint.

I have contacted the Oregon Marine Board and was informed to fill out a boat history form. The boat does have a registration # so hopefully I will be able to find out a little bit more about it .

Without paper work....you most likely have a yard planter
