The seam that runs up to & appears to end right at the bow eye in this pix:

That's at the chine. That may need extremely close scrutiny at the suspected leak site to make sure the seam is just seeping water thru it, and NOT otherwise damaged.

Post a pix of where you think it's leaking (from inside & outside)

Yup, thats the seam. I will post pictures tomorrow. Thank you for the help!

Hello all,

i have been working on the boat again and have quite alot of updates to do. The boat has now a new floor and all the parts are repainted ones and doing a second paint cover soon. I used a two-component, resin-modified epoxy paint called Temacoat RM 40. http://www.tikkurila.com/industrial_coatings/products/temacoat_rm_40#product_data_sheet

Also most of the electonical works have been made. Unfortunately just when i got things rolling again i have to put the restoration on hold for a couple of weeks for our honeymoon.

My question for now is about moving the center console.

I would like the console to be more in the back of the boat, almost as back as it is possible.

What should i need to take in regard? Will i get some balance issues if the center of gravity moves more back? Also the transom is now more heavier, i glued two 20millimeter marine grade plywoods together which added some weight.

Every modification has a domino effect on boats. Adding weight to the stern normally I've only heard causes more issues, you'll also have to buy new steering and control cables. There are ways to compensate but the end result is more money spent.

Enjoy your honeymoon and if going on a cruise stay away from the rail. :)

P?iv?? Goddag Anders!
A fellow Finn here with the exact same boat. Mine is a '93 but looks identical. I will start a thread at some point but had too much fun with the boat on my vacation so forgot to take pictures. At some point I will have to tear it apart and do a resto (it's leaking a little and interior in bad shape) so I'm gonna follow this thread closely. What did you use instead of Gluvit?

Hello all,

so i have finally finished the project. It took me a while, but i am very happy with the end result. More pictures are in the flickr-folder (<- click this). I was planning on re-installing the boat's old engine, but instead decided to buy a brand new Mercury 60 EFI, and have not regretted the desicion.

I moved the center console about half a meter towards the back of the boat and added about 20 cm of height to the console for a more comfortable position when standing.

Obviosly the project is not totally finished, (are they ever?) and some work is still left, but mostly minor adjustments.

I made the boat also a bit lighter which in a way was a bad desicion, now the boat is a bit unsteady and jumpy. So i am planning on installing trim tabs.

For Captain Stu Stu's question. Firstly: Hello and sorry for the very late reply. I dont remember exactly what i used, but i would use either sikaflex marine or some kind of marine epoxy.

Amazing job! :thumb: Thanks for reporting back!

Regarding the performance, I wonder if it's now too stern-heavy from moving the helm back. Maybe try some weight redistribution to see if you see an improvement?

Above - 2X.
Yup.

"I moved the center console about half a meter towards the back of the boat ......now the boat is a bit unsteady and jumpy."

Interesting the difference in desires and/or the way a boat is used.
Here the console would be moved forward to get more room in the rear of the boat.
Where as the PO moved it reward to (I assume) get more room in the front of the boat.

fetch

She looks great on the water! I assume you mean the boat porpoises and you can't trim the motor out. The tabs will help that out big time by pushing the bow down.
