I found this 1989 Lowe 17ft bass boat on CL. Comes with an older 65hp evinrude. Asking price is 1000 or best offer. The owner removed the transom wood because it was rotten. He said he has no time to finish it. I already have a 1996 tracker, but has leaking rivets, a small leaking hole and a Leak at the transom. Would this be a good idea to finish the lowe and put my 75hp mercury on it. I could sell the evinrude and Trailer and possibly sell the tracker as is. Disclosed, or scrap it.
Any ideas, thoughts or opinions. Thx

Looks like a pretty simple fixer upper. No glass to sand. I am partial to Lowes too btw.

Check the outside of the hull below the waterline for any signs of caulk/sealant/goo before doing the leak test on the Lowe.

The rivets and patches that your Tracker needs isn't that big or hard of a job, but I understand that some folks may not be comfortable doing that kind of work.
