Why not buy a decent used boat? I'm fairly sure you could buy one and modify it to your needs for far cheaper than it would cost to build one. Unless that is you have access to free materials and tools of course. (I'm really envious of you if you do lol.<br /> From what I understand, aluminum boats are pretty rugged and and last along time. It's the wood in the boat that needs to be repaired and replaced most of the the time, and if you are building new, then you would have to buy all the wood anyway. Also you already have the old wood as a template for the new.
