I am sorry to bother everyone but I have search the threads and cannot find any advice on the problem I'm having. I finally got my boat to the water to see how the motor was going to perform. Well it has a high idle but i'm going to sync it tomorrow to try and remedy this problem. My concern comes with the fact that it takes off weak and when it does start to pick up enough to apply more throttle it will all of a sudden rev like it jumped out of gear and lose forward momentum. When it does this I have to back it off and ease into the throttle to regain speed. I was unable to achieve any significant speed. I was thinking of tearing into the L/U just thought I would check here due to the wealth of knowledge I have found here. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

YOU are not bothering anybody.

It is possible that you have a prop that has the bushing going on the prop. index the prop and prop bushing. run and see if the marks are still lined up.
Make sense? rebuild prop.

High idle and slamming to gear is not to good for the lower end. .02

Shift linkage could alo be a problem.
