Problems after running for awhile

I have 35 hp out board 0B110834 I dont know what year. The motor has been setting for awhile and i just replaced water pump with a kit. the problem i took it out today ran great for about half hour then started acting up then died. wait a bit and fished then it fire up and run but sounded awful. I just ordered a new fuel filter and fuel pump diaphragm kit could it be the coil pack? what do you guys think? Im also thinking of putting on a tilt and trim package on any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

usually not the coils

start by checking to make sure the stuff you have in your tank is fuel.
