i just had some work done to my lower unit before putting in the water, and i think something may have been put together wrong with the trim switches...

when i trim all the way down, it won't let me trim up unless i hit the trailor button a couple times, then i can trim up and down, but at a certain point near the bottom it wont let me trim up without tapping trailor a couple times. can anyone give me suggestions on how i can adjust this or check what is going on? thanks

Re: problem with trim

Trim limit switch may be going bad or may have a bad connection somewhere. It's the small hockey puck sized device on the side of the outdrive right where it tilts.

yes these were just replaced when i had bellows and other work done on outdrive... that is why i am wondering if they were somehow wired wrong or set wrong etc...because it works perfectly except when i get to a certain point lowering the unit, then it wont come up without tapping trailor, almost as if for some reason it thinks its already trimmed all the way up or something?? i dont know :/

Re: problem with trim

Since the trim part only doesn't work, I would guess they probably forgot to adjust them after installation. They do need adjusted to work properly.

Here's the instructions and also shows how to adjust them.
