Problem with tilt/trim

Hello all. I have a 96 johnson faststrike...I parked the boat under the carport...Came back home and the motor is in the fully raised position and will not come down...here the motor spinning for up but nothing for down..any suggestions?

I assume that when you left and wherever you were before you came home, you had tilted the engine to the fully up position? If so.............

Find the black plastic box that contains the two relays. Switch the relays. If the problem is now reversed (lowers but no up), you have a bad relay.

If on the other hand, the engine tilted up by itself while you were away, in all probability a PTT switch has shorted out for some reason BUT the relay explanation above still stands. Let us know what you find.
