I purchased an 8' x 16' pontoon from Jerry Boles. He advertised on Ebay with a "Best Offer" feature. I did research on the internet and then called him. We came to a price and he said he would ship me a complete finished pontoon. I paid him up front. When it was delivered the person doing the delivery stated, "When I (he) got there the pontoon was not completed. I had to wait while they finished their work." As it turns out the steering system would not work and finally came off the second time I tried to use it. I called Jerry and he said any 12 year old could fix the problem. As it turned out it cost $200.00 to get someone to take it out of the water and fix it. This was done as Jerry said get someone to fix it. Once fixed he would only send a check for $75.00. Then he started telling me the driver that delivered the pontoon says he put the pontoon in the water and everything was all right. A complete fabrication. He left it on my front lawn and it cost me an additional $50.00 to get it put into the lake. I feel he owes me $175.00 for these extra expences. Likewise the electrical system was not completely finished. Bench seats were not screwed down completely. All in all this was a terrible experience. With the electrical problem still not fixed and my having to hire someone to fix it I believe he should send me a Check for $200.00 even. I WOULD APPRICIATE YOU HELP IN GETTING MR. BOLES TO REIMBURSE ME FOR MONEY OUT OF POCKET DO TO HIS NEGLIGENCE IN NOT HAVING THE BOAT COMPLETELY FINISHED AND ALL SAFETY FEATURES WORKING. THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE.

Sorry to hear about your experience "lovis43". It's hard when you can't inspect and test before delivery. Definetly need to beware w/ those E-Bay deals. Hope this doesn't dampen your boating spirits too much. Good luck w/ a resolution.

Lovis, there's nothing iboats can do for you except commiserate, but have you taken it up with Ebay/Paypal? They do have a dispute resolution process. Good luck getting it straightened out.
