Im a new boater and have a problem. I bought a 1984 bumble bee with a 70 hp evinrude. I took it out and it idled fine but when i gave it throttle it cut out and died. I thought the gas might be bad so i drained it and put in new. My next trip out it started up fine and when i gave it throttle it would take ot but cut in and out. So then i rebuilt the carbs. The motor ran great hooked up to muffs but when i took it out it would bogg down every time o tried to give it throttle. If i back off it real quick it will continue to run but when i give it throttle again it still boggs like its either starving for fuel or smothering.....its getting expensive to keep taking it to the lake to find out its still not fixed. Any help would be great....thanks in advancs

kyboater11,
The next time you go out have someone pump the fuel primer bulb and see if it allows the motor to develop full power and if it does you have a weak fuel pump. Before you do that though, I would pump up the fuel primer bulb before you put it in the water to see if you have any fuel leaks in any of your fuel lines going from the fuel tank to the engine and under the engine around the carbs. Also make sure your fuel tank is vented or venting like it is supposed to also. I would also check spark to see if your getting full spark to all the spark plugs.
