Zinc chromate is better - it provides superior corrosion resistance. Etch the bare metal with a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water before you prime and you'll get the best of both worlds.<br /><br />It would be hard to do better than to follow Crazy Charlie's prop painting instructions: Click here.
