Hi everyone, I have just a quick question regarding primer paint everyoned has used on there transoms.

I have given the transom 2 coats of resin and would like to give it a quick primer before installing it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Background: First major project boat, 1978 CC Starcraft Mariner. Started a thread if anyone needs more info.

Thanks again

Re: Primer Question - For Transom

After applying a couple coats of resin (maybe three, can't remember off hand), I put on a coat of Rustoleum Marine primer for wood & fiberglass, then a few coats of Rustoleum Marine topside paint. If I had it to do over, I would use regular Rusto Professional or Stops Rust and save the extra expense of "Marine" on the label. Lots of folks on here use the Professional (oil base).
