Primer + Paint suggestions?

Im restoring my first boat, it's coming along great, but I'm not sure what primer/paint to use and how many coats. Hardener and thinner?

So I would like to hear your suggestions.

Here is what I'm working with.

Its a '72 Starcraft ss I have the boat down to pure aluminum, all of the old paint is gone.
I will be using a compressor with a paint gun.

So to sum up my question.

Which primer?
Which paint? How many layers should I apply?
What kind of hardener/thinner?
Any other tips will be greatly appreciated.
Different paint for the bottom of the boat?


Like I said I'm completely new yo painting a boat.

If it was mine, I'd leave the bottom bare. I'd hit anything you wanted to paint with Rustoleum etching primer, then their Clean Metal Primer, then your color.

Is that stuff possible to shoot through a spray gun? Or do I have to thin it out

Inside and outside Bare Alum ? .. What is it your trying to do please ..

Pics and Info is what is Great about Iboats .. Iboats does not limit the spectrum ..

UP. Down .. MId .. kinda thing ..

Your Raw Alum .. and Spray gun .. then I personally would research here on Iboats for the Top or the Tried ..or the Other.
