What are you trying to do?

Salt-away is a flush/ preventative. Used it for years to rinse down tackle at the end of the year for storage. It will no restore damage done by saltwater.

The primary cleaner in Prestone flush is Trisodium Citrate which is used to clean carbonate scale.

I've used a mixture of White vinegar and baking soda to remove salt build up for years. Works like a charm. Sometimes too well if you let it sit too long.

It really depends on what compounds are causing the blockage. Guessing a combination of salt, calcium carbonate and aluminum oxide.

Something like this would do the trick.

The secret is to monitor the ph of the solution. The solution neutralizes itself as it dissolves the compounds. The solution may need to be replaced a number of times before the job is done
