Pressure test Alpha 1 Gen 2 - do I need to block something

Hi,
I've removed the drive from the engine and attached a pressure tester to the lower hole on the drive. It builds up to around 15 psi, but I hear a significant leak. I've followed a YouTube video, but what I'm wondering is if I'm doing it correctly. Shouldn't something be plugged to create a 'sealed drive'? I have a reservoir tank inside the boat. I would have thought there are some connections between that and the drive that need to be sealed when pressure testing.

The connection for the gear lube monitor system is a ball valve on the driveshaft housing that mates with a protruding valve on the bell housing. No need to block anything off when pressure testing save for one of the vent/drain holes with the oem plug and gasket

The drive should be drained of lube sufficiently prior to testing.

Once pressure is applied you should simulate operation by rotating the input splined shaft clockwise (facing the drive unit). It's also a good idea to manually shift the drive f/n/r while rotating the shaft. A water/soap solution sprayed in seal areas ought to locate your leak quickly

As stated about the only time you need to plug anything is if you split it and are testing the halves separately. Follow the air leak to see where it is coming from.

It is possible the oil valve in the upper that is supposed to close when drive is removed is holding pressure.

Also you dont have the vent plug in upper pulled

most llikely the noise is from the seal under the water pump or the shift shaft seal.
