Hi Folks!
I'm rebuilding a pressurized ("two-line") fuel tank for a 1957 Evinrude Fastwin.
The tank is actually in very good condition, but it was leaking a bit of fuel around the upper assembly (cap/gauge/handle/primer assembly).
So I bought a rebuild kit from Vintage Outboard & Marine Supply. The problem comes when I try to reassemble everything.
The primer spring puts a lot of pressure on the diaphragm making it difficult -- for me at least -- to assemble everything without pinching or bunching the edges of the diaphragm. That leads to new and better leaks
Any suggestions for a better assembly procedure?
Thanks!
Dave
