Going to look at a possible purchase, old evinrude 9.9, i think 75 or 76? Photo included. Guy says it has good compression but cylinder 1 doesn't fire. Thinks its the coil pack.
If it ends up being in pretty good condition I think I will go for it, but I'm wondering what other maintenance or repair I should be doing pre-emptively. Looking to get this thing in top shape.

Looks like a 75 model.----Post the actual compression values here.----And yes, I would consider that as a parts motor from what the picture shows.----About $100 is what I would pay.-----Here I would do a complete teardown, top and bottom.----If all is good , a seal kit for lower unit.----Fuel pump diaphragm.------And all other repairs as needed.----Spend your money wisely.

Reminds me of a three legged, one eyed dog named "Lucky".
