I have a pre alpha outdrive now on my 70's 4 cyl. mercruiser 120 HP. Can I upgrade to an Alpha outdrive? I know I may have to change engine coupler, but I am thinking of upgrading the outdrive to an alpha for obvious reasons, being newer and better design. I am also in the process of rebuilding the transom on my 66 Starcraft. So I dont want to cut the out the hole in the new transom until I know which out drive I am going to use. Please if anybody has any incite on this let me know. Thanks in advance. I love working on this old boat, its fun!!!!
