The powehead on my 94 merc 150 is melted. All the bolts holding the powerhead to the bracket are disconnected as per the service manuals instructions. When i crank up on the engine hoist the power head refuses to come loose. I picked the entire back end of the boat (24' Sea Ray Laguna @ 6000#s) off the trailer and still nothing. It scared me so I put it back down (the hoist was bending). I tried PB blaster on the 10 bolts that hold the power head down. I heated them up with an acetalyne torch. Still no luck. Any Suggestions???

Re: Powerhead removal

Make sure the shift rod is unbolted too.
Some powerheads have a flange or plate on the exaust ports, with the bottom bolts
attached to the bottom shroud. Other then that, I dunno. Good luck with it tho.

------------------
the Early bird get's the worm...So, he don't have to stop for bait.
