I don't have a 200 but it should work the same, I'd guess: Using the PTT raise the engine all the way up. Get down on one knee more or less and look straight at the rear of the PS pumping system located between the transom clamp brackets. On the lower part of the assembly should be a nylon plug, may be painted over or still natural nylon color, about the size of a quarter dollar. Remove this plug and check the fluid level. The manual for my engine states that full is just running out....drip drip....with the plug removed. If low refill with ATF if your fluid is red, or Quicksilver/Mercury PTT fluid if clear....per the manual instructions.
Return the plug and go out and use the rig for awhile and when you get ready check it again and in the mean time keep an eye out for any puddled fluid on the floor under where the boat is sitting. That way you won't have to wonder. You'll know if you have the right amount, whether or not it's a leaking problem, and do or don't you have to initiate a maintenance action. Wink!
