Power Trim button lowers 90 hp Mercury motor, but will not raise it all the way. After pushing the button to raise motor it will only go approx. 2-3 in. then stops. It is like it suddenly disconnects, there's no noise in the switch if you keep pushing it. Fluid level is okay. What should I check next? I am at a loss. It doesn't seem like it would be a switch problem since it lowers the motor and attempts to raise it. If you or anyone has had a similar exerience please share. Appreciate it!

It may be the trim motor. They are protected with a cicuit breaker. This circuit breaker may have gotten weak, and tripping for next to normal loads. Try to find sonmeone who can put a ameter inline to find out how much current it is drawing.<br />It should draw about 10amps under normal load. If it draws more, make sure the hinges are free and the connections are clean and tight. If they are, it may be time to have a motor rebuilt or replaced.
