power trim and tilt

i have 1988 bayliner with the 125 force motor and when i have the motor up my power tilt slowly bleeds down what would cause this to happen

A leak!

You are low on Hyd Fluid. Try filling the res and operate the pump. Look for a leak once you fill it up.

Rritt's probably tired of saying it, so allow me. The problem is most likely a tired valve which will need rebuilt.
