power to frig and outlets

I have a 1979 sea ray 240 sundancer. I'm trying to get power to the refrigerator and the outlets.
Am I not turning something on. I have power to the cabin light but nothing to the galley
Can some one help??

Do you have a MARINE inverter system? (and enough batteries to run it?) Most likely those are currently wired to shore power only.

Yeah, we need more info.

First, your frig should run on DC power unt AC power comes available.

Assuming you are trying to get the AC power to these units, I would caution you that boat AC wiring can be very dangerouse and nothing to mess around with if you don't have the knowledge to do it, and make it safe.

AC power comes from your shore power hookup (at the dock), your generator, or a inverter. If you don't have one of these (only 1 at a time please), you won't have any AC power.

I have an 20 amp outlet that the inverter and frig are plugged into. It seems that no power is getting to the outlet.

im guessing the 20amp outlet is in fact a receptical and not some sort of low voltage plug

a inverter takes low voltage dc from the batterys and changes it to 120 volts dc. if the "inverter" is plugged in the receptical then its proberly a battery charger. so where is the 20amp outlet getting power from?

Yep, what Glen said. The inverter takes dc battery power and is the feed for the AC system.

BUT, given your current experience level, please get someone to wire this for you. Its not only your safety, but that of your passengers.
