Went to take my bass boat out on Saturday and when I went to put the motor down (1993 150 hp Mercury 2 stroke), it went down VERY slowly and almost labored. I tried to raise it again and it went only about an inch. I tried to lower it again and it went down another inch and slowly stopped.
I took the cover off and can hear slight clicking when I press UP or DOWN, but nothing happens. After a few minutes of messing with it, I heard what I thought was the trim motor start up, but no movement. Then nothing. All I get is the clicking.
Any thoughts?
I read some posts on the subject here but was not sure on things. I got the boat last year, so I am still very new with working on them.
If the fluid level is too low, will the motor still run? It seems like the motor itself is bad, but I'm not sure.
Also, the boat is currently in the water and I haven't been able to take it out yet.
Thanks for any help!
