power tilt/trim guage

I recently bought a 2000 Party Barge Regency with a 90hp Mercury. The power tilt/trim works fine except for the guage on the dash. All the other guages work fine. The needle is lodge like the motor is raised to the highest position. If anyone could give me any ideas on where to start troubleshooting I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I would first check the sender unit. They are normally adjustable, so it just may be loose.

You can check the sender unit and guage with an ohmmeter. Both normally read about 100 ohms.
